The Importance of Residual Efficacy
Residual efficacy is the residual microbiocidal or antimicrobial effectiveness of the disinfectant when it is applied on surfaces.
It measures the ability of the disinfectant to deactivate microbes. Our Protectus Range has undergone extensive testing to measure its effectiveness in not only destroying microbes but also in inhibiting the growth of microbes long after it has dried.

RBT solutions are rigorously tested against all relevant testing protocols including EN1276, EN13697, EN1650, Residual efficacy, Taint test, EN14476 viruses, EN1500, biofilm removal and Halal approved at leading independent laboratories.
Besides our in-house laboratories, clinical testing on our products have also been done at independent laboratories in the UK and Germany. These include the Campden BRI Laboratory (UK), the Blutest Laboratory (UK), the Dr Brill and Dr Steinmann Laboratory (Germany), and the Center of Virus and Vaccine Research, Sunway University (Malaysia).

Through independent testing, Protectus Viridis™ & Ultimate have been proven to have high antimicrobial efficacy, long residual efficacy and is capable of eliminating a broad spectrum of harmful microorganisms.
Field Testing By Established Research Institutions
Our partners at SurfaceTech have also engaged on a consulting basis, established research laboratories including the Center of Virus and Vaccine Research of Sunway University (Malaysia), and the University of South Africa to validate our test results and verify the efficacy of RBT products in live settings with our local and international clients.
Our Partners in Malaysia have an ongoing consulting agreement with the Center of Virus and Vaccine Research of Sunway University to independently verify our testing claims and to conduct ongoing testing procedures for existing and prospective clients in various industries and sectors. Protectus Viridis™ products have been successfully tested in childcare and dental settings on a whole hosts of pathogens, including micro-organisms (commonly associated with HAIs) isolated from hospitals – such as Methicilin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa – under local conditions.
Effective Log Reduction Against A Broad Spectrum Of Microbes
Log reduction is the extent to which the disinfectant is capable of reducing the number of microbes on a surface. A 4-log and 5-log reduction means a disinfectant is able to reduce the number of microbes by 10,000-fold and 100,000-fold respectively after it has been applied to a surface. In other words, it is able to kill 99.999% (4-log reduction) of microbes and 99.9999% (5-log reduction) of viruses.
Protectus Ultimate™ & Protectus Viridis™ have been tested to be effective to perform at log 4-5 reductions in killing pathogens, over a 24-hour period, with 8 wear cycles, on surfaces. This means that after applying on surfaces with Protectus Viridis™, it is able to kill up to 99.999% of microbes on the surfaces and continues to prevent pathogens from proliferating or re-contaminating for up to 24 hours or up to 8 wear cycles.
